A Member-Run Shooting Club for People Who Take Safety Seriously
Lakeland Rifle & Pistol Club is a private, volunteer-run shooting club serving Polk County since 1968.
Membership here is not transactional. It is about belonging to a group that sets and protects its own standards.
Is This the Right Club for You?
We welcome people who:
Value strict safety standards
Already understand basic range etiquette or are willing to learn it through our orientation and training
Treat other shooters with respect
Want a calm, predictable environment
Are comfortable joining a volunteer-run organization
Care about the experience their families have on the range
Like improving their shooting—through solo practice, casual sessions with friends, or low-pressure competitive matches
What Makes LRPC Different?
Safety Is Cultural
We do not rely on constant supervision to keep people in line.
Instead, our members:
complete safety orientation and live-fire demonstrations
learn our procedures before shooting independently
participate in club activities
help maintain standards
report unsafe behavior through a formal process
That culture is what keeps the range calm and predictable.
Member-Run & Community-Driven
Everything here—from matches to junior programs to work days—is run by volunteers.
That creates:
accountability
pride of ownership
strong social norms
people who care about keeping the club healthy
Multiple Shooting Disciplines
Members enjoy access to rifle, pistol, and shotgun facilities, plus regular matches.
Thinking About Joining but Not an Expert?
Many of our members did not arrive as competitors or lifelong shooters.
What matters here is attitude:
Willingness and ability to follow our rules
Respect for others on the line
Openness to instruction
Patience and good judgment
Our onboarding process exists to support those qualities and make sure everyone is comfortable before shooting independently.
