LRPC .22 Cal OOPS Benchrest Match
Lakeland Rifle & Pistol Club’s .22 Cal OOPS Bench Rest Match offers structured 50- and 100-yard rimfire benchrest competition in Lakeland, Florida. Open to members, Blue Cards, juniors, and guests.
OOPS matches are club-sanctioned, stand-alone benchrest events designed to provide members and guests an opportunity to participate in organized shooting in a relaxed, social environment. These matches do not accumulate season points like LRPC competitive series matches. Emphasis is placed on safe firearm handling, structured line management, and good sportsmanship.
Schedule, Timing, and Fee
100-yard matches: First Sunday of the month
50-yard matches: Second Sunday of the month
(Unless notified otherwise)
Registration Opens: 8:15 AM
Match Begins: 9:00 AM
First-time guest must complete an LRPC waiver form.
Match Fee:
$15.00-Members/Blue Cards
$25.00-Guests
$10.00-Juniors
Classes
Factory Class: Semi-auto .22 LR, magazine or tube-fed stock rifle (Brass catchers required)
Outlaw Class: .22 LR bolt or lever action stock rifle
Unlimited Class: Rifles modified with aftermarket competition chassis, barrel, or receiver
Air-Gun Class: .22 caliber magazine-fed air gun (Moderators allowed)
600 Club: For individuals who consistently shoot 600
Factory rifles equipped with match-grade barrels or competition-style stocks remain Factory or Outlaw unless modified with high-end aftermarket competition components.
Course of Fire
Four targets provided:
1 sighter/warm-up
3 for score
Confirmation shot required prior to scoring
15-minute sighter period
Three 20-minute record periods
Participants are responsible for zeroing their rifle prior to match day to ensure shots strike the paper target.
Equipment Rules
Firearms
Must be magazine or tube fed
All rounds for score must be loaded via the rifle’s magazine or tube feeding system
Optics
Scope power limited to 24x (variable scopes set at 24x maximum)
Iron sights or unmagnified red dot shooters compete at 50 yards only
Ammunition
.22 LR
.22 pellets or slugs for air rifles
No restriction on ammunition cost
No barrel tuners
Rifle Rests
One-piece rests not allowed
Rests may not be attached to benches
Rifles may not be clamped in rests
Mechanical rests may not be used for aiming adjustment
Bipods allowed
Safety & Match Oversight
OOPS matches operate under match-specific safety rules that may be more stringent than general club safety policies. These rules are covered during the pre-match safety briefing.
Approved line safety personnel supervise all match activity. Failure to follow line commands or match-specific safety rules will result in disqualification. Serious safety issues are reported to the Club Safety Chairman.
Junior shooters under 18 must be directly supervised by their legal guardian.
Participants may call CEASE FIRE if a serious and immediate safety concern is observed.
